An excerpt from my article, published by One Table, One World, on Medium
My Table consists of new faces I meet everyday.
My table consists of who I build a relationship with.
My table consists of the love of my job.
My table is my reminder of new friendships I’ve gained.
This article was written as an reminder of who I meet everyday, in my everyday working life.
When I was writing this article, I wanted my readers to get an idea that, although I work in the community with lots of different people, my clients always leave an impression on me and my thoughts are always brought back to them as I live my own life. I reminisce on the day, the care given, the progress achieved with each client, the lessons learnt and morals taught.
My job consists more than helping someone to wash and dress. My job allows me to gain a deeper understanding of my community and a deeper sense of empathy.
