Sticking to the important

Over the past few days, I have been considering the platforms that I use for reading, writing and personal growth.

My list seems to be getting larger with the likes of facebook and twitter trying to grab my attention. But to be able to grow, you need to be able to sort out what each platform is useful for and how you can use it to the best of your advantage.

Facebook; Timelines are boring and giving you the least satisfaction in the long run, but groups designed around your own personal growth is what it is fantastic for. Joining groups which you will be able to participate and add knowledge from other’s experiences are vital for your journey.

Twitter; Much the same as facebook, as timelines go. But fantastic when you want to promote yourself. Now this can be a big step. However, you may have family and friends on twitter who receive notifications when you post something new. In some ways, you need to be able to fight the fear of allowing them to see your work. It doesn’t matter if you are not ready yet, there will come a time when you wll hit that share button. Just make sure that it is in your own time.

The Mix; This is my new found love! The mix filters articles on websites which you are interested in. I have found it invaluable as articles are posted in medium boxes, with a simple picture and heading. You can make your own collection of articles which you have found interesting and follow other people’s boards aswell. Here is a link to my collection. Do feel free to follow; The Mix

Goodreads; Essential! A must! A fantastic way to keep up to date with your reading and bookmarking (especially if you have fallen asleep and the book happens to be misplaced somewhere). I tend not to read other people’s reviews of books as it may distort my own thinking of a book’s lesson, message or just story. But the platform is great for inspiration into other genres.

Please feel free to add me as a friend. I do love to find other books across all different genres; Goodreads

There are other platforms out there which serve to help you in some specific way, but we have to find what is right for us, as it is in our own personal interest that will gain us what we want to achieve in the future.

Please do comment below on which platforms you have found inspiring or useful.
