Perspectives on one’s own life can change suddenly, especially when you have two young kids to look after.
I believe that when I fell pregnant with my first child, this was the beginning of a journey where I would learn so much about myself and what I was capable of.
The beginning of this journey will be one to push me to points where I thought I never thought possible; in motherhood, career, marriage and my family. It will push me make decisions which not only involve my own life, but will affect my family and my kids…especially my kids.
My journey is not set in stone. This can be applied to every human being. Everyone will have a different path to lead. Some may choose a path which they are very comfortable with, others will change their paths as they get older. I am on a journey of self discovery (even at the tender age of 33). I have come to terms with wanting to participate in loads of different avenues; reading, blogging, knitting, building, exploring, to working out and working in my current job. And these are just a few. This means that I am not an “expert” in anything. I do not claim to be a “specialist” in anything. That would take up too much of my time in one area which can be a problem. This is when the feeling of disappointment and failure usually sets in, especially when you are faced with so many “successful” people on social media and other platforms, doing well with their lives, while I am just daydreaming. We need to break away from this habit that solely makes us focus on what we see as successful.
I would like to think that making this blog will help others to realise that your life is as unique as you would like it to be. You don’t have to follow anyone else’s footprints. You make your own pathway.
If we look hard enough, we come across signs which help us to move in the direction we want to go. However, there are many reasons why we make the decisions we make (that is another blog post). Respect and non judgemental behaviour is needed to be able to allow another person to make their choices freely, even if some choices may not be what we would personally choose.
I want to share my experience of my life, hoping that it will help those to realise that life is not only made of one opportunity, or focused on one theme. It is made up of many themes and we need to learn, not only how to manage it, but to be grateful that we have the opportunity to experience it.
I hope you will join me on this journey.
Have you made an similar journey of discovery? Where about’s are you on this journey?
What did you find as you went (or are going) through it?
What obstacles laid in your pathway and how did you overcome it?
